Scholastic Book Fair:  Monday, October 30th - Friday, November 3rd, 2017
 
With the look and feel of a bustling bookstore, the week-long Scholastic Book Fair features displays full of affordable books based on characters and subjects kids love and want to read. From newly released books and best sellers to award-winning titles and perennial favorites, every book is hand-selected by Scholastic experts and chosen from dozens of other publishers.

We will be sending home the newest flier Monday August 18th.  The completed paper order and payment need to be returned to Ms. Shar by Thursday, August 21st.  Checks, made payable to Scholastic, are preferred although cash is okay too.

The Library is trying to make sure that each scholar (as well as those staff who request) receives the May order forms.

Please remember that Ms. J-Lynn is in the process of collecting new paperback books to revitalize our book exchange program in the Academy's hallways.  As you order Scholastic books, please consider purchasing an extra book or classroom set to donate to Ms. Shar for the "Read and Succeed Book Exchange."

Ms. Shar does apologize for any and all confusion.  There will a small June Scholastic Book Order in June which will go home around Tuesday, May 27and due that Friday so books will be here before June 13th.

Online you will be able to use "plastic" for payment ☺  The Academy receives points for the order, and your items are shipped directly to the Academy for distribution. Those of you who ordered on Monday, January 26 should receive your items late next week.

In recent years, Scholastic has purchased Arrow, Lucky, SeeSaw and Tab; you may recognize these companies' names from when you were younger!  We are spacing the delivery of Scholastic books with the distribution of the newest flier.

We, the Academy, invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a celebration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging children and young adults to read every day so they can lead better lives.

The Scholastic Book Fair begins this Monday, November 18 and concludes Friday, November 22.  The Fair will be open in the Liz Warner Library from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM daily.

Dear Parents & Families,

Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child.  Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most.  Giving children access to great books and the opportunity to choose books will motivate them to read more.  And, like most acquired skills, the more children practice reading, the better they will get.

We would especially love to see you on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH when our Academy hosts Family Literacy Night. Between the hours of 4 PM and 8 PM you and your family may browse the Fair.  Special activities are being planned, and each will be advertised shortly as to type of activity and time.
