The Scholastic Book Fair begins this Monday, November 18 and concludes Friday, November 22.  The Fair will be open in the Liz Warner Library from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM daily.

Dear Parents & Families,

Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child.  Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most.  Giving children access to great books and the opportunity to choose books will motivate them to read more.  And, like most acquired skills, the more children practice reading, the better they will get.

We would especially love to see you on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH when our Academy hosts Family Literacy Night. Between the hours of 4 PM and 8 PM you and your family may browse the Fair.  Special activities are being planned, and each will be advertised shortly as to type of activity and time.

We look forward to having you participate in our Fair, and remember, all purchases benefit the Liz Warner Love of Learning Library as well as individual classrooms.  Wish Lists will be available for each teacher!

Thank you families for your generous support of the October/November Scholastic Reading Book Club orders.  Scholastic has given us a tentative delivery date of November 18th.  If you have not received your child's order, please let Ms. Shar know as soon as possible.  The next Reading Club Book order will go out in January. 

More information is now available for the Scholastic Reading Club! This week, we are sending home the newest fliers. The completed paper order and payment need to be returned to Ms. Shar, Ms. Jo or your scholar's literacy teacher by Wednesday, November 6.  Checks, made payable to Scholastic, are preferred although cash is okay too.
