The Washoe County Library is a great local resource. We encourage all scholars to have a library card so they may take advantage of it.
Field Trips
Fall Visits to the Downtown Reno Library
In late August and into September each of the individual classrooms walk to our Downtown Library. Prior to the field trip’s day, we secure each scholar his or her own library card. Standard library cards are issued without charge to Washoe County residents and students attending school in Washoe County. Teachers, parent chaperones and the Academy’s librarian spend approximately one to two hours at the Downtown Library where a library staff member greets; provides a tour; shares a story or library lesson; and allows time for browsing and checking out books!
