The Art Committee organizes art projects in all the classrooms throughout the school year. Many of the projects will be available for sale at the Art Auction Showcase on April 24, 2015.
In an effort to fill our halls with student art, some of the projects made this year will be displayed within the school – starting in the 4th quarter – as revolving a "coffee shop" collection. Themes for 2014-2015: Our themes for the classroom art this year are:

This year we are happy to announce that the art program will be
collaborating not only in the classrooms but with clubs, electives and outside creative spaces!
Club and Electives Projects: Our two art clubs and the sewing club will be creating projects for our Art Auction Showcase. We also have many electives that lend themselves to artistic projects, so we'll be working with those as well to create special pieces. NEW THIS YEAR!!!
Individual Projects: We will be organizing some projects that you and your scholar can do at home. And stay tuned for details about our upcoming Type Walk! Families will have time to create art projects "at home" throughout the 2nd and 3rd quarters! A list of ideas for families will be up the 2nd week in October. However, if you have an idea for a project you and your scholar would like to create, simply send your idea to media@academyoflit.org. |
VSA Nevada: We are excited to expand our Kindergarten VSA art classes throughout the entire school. They teach art history and cross-curriculum concepts while creating fun individual projects. We hope to have them teach in each Math class twice this year. Because of the individualized nature of these projects, most will go home with the scholars to decorate your homes.
