Note to Prospective Teachers:
We are excited to announce that we are adding a brand new position to the Academy team—a full-time Special Education Teacher/Case Manager for grades K-8. Completed applications need to be received by April 23, 2018 at midnight to be initially considered. First round interviews will take place the week of April 23rd. Finalists for the position will be invited to a second teacher panel interview and may be invited to a community event as part of the application process.
Special Education Case Manager Position:
This position is not a classroom-based teaching position, but will provide solid instruction and case management to identified students across grade levels. The SpEd Case Manager will manage a case-load of no more than 22, and work closely with the RTI committee for identifications. Flexibility will be needed when working with students and holding IEP meetings. The SpEd Case Manager will need to be highly organized with collection and recording of student goal measures. The position will also require the individual to work collaboratively with all teachers, administration, the learning strategist, and librarian. Strong positive interpersonal skills and strengths-based teaching are required.

Part-Time Instruction Aide
The Honors Academy of Literature is a unique learning environment throughout the school where reading and writing are valued, authentically practiced, discussed, shared, and encouraged daily.
Under the general supervision of a teacher, the instructional aide is responsible for providing assistance to instructional programs by assisting the teacher in achieving educational objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes instructional activities with individual students or small groups of students following teacher direction and demonstration; assists in preparation of materials for class, classroom activities, assignments, location of supplementary materials from school library and other resources areas; implements behavior management programs designed by teachers and administrator; monitors student use of instructional equipment; serves as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the teacher; assists, monitors, and guides the student to attend and participate in activities, and complete tasks; supervise students in unstructured environments such as lunch, and recess; guides independent study, enrichment work, and review material set up and assigned by the teacher; establish and maintain productive working relationships with staff, business associates, and general community; work on multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately; communicate effectively; exercise initiative and make independent decisions to reschedule work to meet deadlines or to effectively handle emergency work; keep student information confidential by adhering to FERPA.
