Hey, Families! My name is Shontell Brewer, and I am brand new to Honors as a teacher. However, my children attended eons ago. All five of our children are adults, so right now,  my husband, Mike, and I focus mostly on building our ranch, serving in the community, and hanging out with grandsons and our two dogs. 

I got my start in education when I was 17 where I volunteered as an aide for a special education kinder class for deaf and hearing impaired children. I knew there was no turning back for me. I have worked in every grade from running my own early childhood education center to university professor, and still cannot answer the question, “what’s your favorite grade to teach?”

After achieving my bachelor’s of science in education, I went on to secure two master’s degrees: one in teaching English as a second language, and one in Christian studies with an emphasis in urban ministry. To date, I have been in education for 30 years, and I am still just as in love with teaching!
